Gurmukh deeyan nazran andar sona mitti ik samaan;
Gurmukh de lai ikko jahe ne dhanheen ate dhanwaan.
Gurmukh de lai ikko jahe ne harakh sog te maan apmaan;
Gurmukh de lai ikko jahe ne dukhan sukhan de bhugtaan;
Gurmukh de lai ikko jahe ne dukhan sukhan de bhugtaan.
Gurmukh de lai ikko jahe ne kul duniyan de sab insaan;
Gurmukh de lai ikko jahe ne raja hove jan darbaan.
Apne gur de charnan da hi gurmukh rakhdai sada dhyan;
Gurmukh pal pal munhon aakhe jo kujh hai tera bhagwan.
Gurmukh de jo darshan kar laye usda hunda ey kalyaan;
Avtar eho jahe gurmukkhan ton jind jaan kare kurbaan.
Meaning
To a devotee gold and dust are just one and the same; To a devotee both the rich and the poor are just one and the same. To a devotee wound and sadness, honor and dishonor are just one and the same; To a devotee the pleasure and pain are just one and the same. To a devotee all the people of the world are just one and the same; To a devotee king and the guard (gateman) are just one and the same. A devotee always concentrates on the holy (sacred) feet of the True Master; A devotee says at every moment that everything belongs to God. The person, who meets such a devotee, gets transformed. I dedicate and sacrifice my life and belongings unto such devotees.
